USC ONLINE (Virtual Campus)
The following describes which versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator have been Certified for use with Blackboard Learning System 6. Also indicated are versions that may be Compatible, but have not been Certified. Certified configurations are indicated by a red "X" and have undergone a thorough set of tests conducted by Blackboard Quality Assurance and are 100% supported by Blackboard Product Support. Those marked with a gray "X" are certified by Blackboard, but some users have identified issues not recognized by Blackboard. Compatible configurations, indicated by a "C", should function properly, but are not fully supported. Blackboard and USC both recommend that users adhere to the Certified configurations. USC personnel have found that Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 with Windows 2000 or Windows XP usually works better than any other configuration in this table.
Classification is based on the operating system platform you are using. Locate below the platform which you are using, then review the configuration information.

Note: Other browser/OS configurations may work, but have not been tested by Blackboard for certification or compatibility. Regardless of what Internet Service Provider (ISP) you use, we recommend using one of the above certified browsers when using Blackboard. Other browser's may work, but have not been approved for use with Blackboard.
To use one of the recommended browsers, simply minimize the default browser that opens upon connection to your ISP, open one of the recommended browsers and then go to Blackboard and login.
