    AAPC

USC is now an AAPC Licensed Education Site!

    What is AAPC?

AAPC is the nationally recognized leader in

    medical coding credentials.

USC is the only local college which

    offers the AAPC Curriculum,

    teaching both, ICD-9 and ICD-10.

According to AAPC statistics, ninety per cent (90%) of students

who successfully complete this curriculum pass the

Certified Professional Coding (CPC)  exam on

    their first attempt.

    (Individual results may vary).

At USC, all coding courses are taught

    by Certified Coding Instructors.

Successful completion of the approved AAPC

curriculum allows the students to earn up to two years

of work experience counted toward meeting

    the required CPC apprenticeship.

    Medical Coding Preparation

Students WILL NOT earn a degree, certificate

or credits from the medical coding preparation.

USC also offers “Medical Coding Preparation”

for current medical professionals looking to expand

their experience or knowledge in the coding field.

USC's Medical Coding Preparation classes prepares

medical professionals to sit for the CPC exam and

broadens the student's knowledge, opening up new

possibilities in his/her existing medical-affiliated careers.

Medical Coding Preparation include the following 5 classes and can be completed in as little as 3 semesters:

Students will complete the AAPC Practicum, coding 600 real-world case studies in an online, self-paced* setting.  Upon successful completion, students will have fulfilled 1 year of the CPC apprenticeship requirement and be given a Certificate of Proficiency to demonstrate to potential employers their skill set in Medical Coding.

*The Practicum is self-paced but must be completed within a single semester.

Cost: $2995, includes all course tuition, books, Practicum, exam fee, and student membership to AAPC.
