Adjunct Instructors, Canastota Campus

The Utica School of Commerce (USC) seeks business professionals to service as Adjunct Instructors on the Canastota campus. Adjunct Instructors will work to teach and assist students on campus during the day.
Courses will include, but are not limited to, the following:


• Keyboarding/Advanced Keyboarding
• Word Processing
• Business Math
• Computer Concepts


Candidates must possess, at minimum, a Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, and a minimum of three years of applied business or administrative experience. Must have strong computer skills with the ability to teach to individuals with different beginning levels of computer competency. Candidates with a Masters Degree in a related field will be given optimal consideration. Experience teaching at the high school or collegiate level preferred.

Librarian, Utica Campus

USC the Business College is seeking applicants for a Librarian position. The Librarian will work closely with students, faculty, and staff by assisting with research both reference and electronic resources.

 

Applicants must be able to successfully teach library orientations, teach classes to students of different backgrounds, and provide guidance to individuals conducting research.

Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science, or a Master's Degree in Information Science, from an accredited graduate program, and at least one year of professional experience serving as a librarian. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in a college or university setting. Must have strong skills working with technology and online databases, and must show demonstrated work experience with individuals of a diverse background. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is necessary as the position occasional travel to the Canastota campus.

Learning Center Coordinator, Canastota Campus

USC the Business College seeks an enthusiastic professional to serve as Learning Center Coordinator on the Canastota campus. This individual will work closely with students to coordinate and provide tutoring for all students both physically on campus and online.

This individual will be responsible for providing focused services to special populations, to include students with disabilities and students in jeopardy of not achieving the minimal standard of satisfactory academic progress; communicating with current faculty members in regard to curriculum updates, areas of student deficiencies, and securing additional resources that may be utilized within the learning center; participating in college and academic program assessment; and assuring compliance of all Section 504 ADA rules and regulations as stated in statute and college policy. The individual will be expected to audit classes as necessary to become familiar with all course offerings.

Candidates should possess, at minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in business or a closely related field, and prior fieldwork experience in the field of business or accounting. Candidates must have strong communication and customer service skills, as well as strong technical skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching and/or tutoring, preferably at the two-year college level.

This is a 12 month position and requires both day and evening hours.
