USC The Business College Joins The American Association for Professional Coders (AAPC)

USC THE BUSINESS COLLEGE JOINS THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR PROFESSIONAL CODERS

USC The Business College, with locations in Utica and Canastota announced today that the college has teamed up with the American Association for Professional Coders (AAPC).

“As a member of this prestigious organ

ization of Professional Coders, we are better equipped to provide our students with top-notch instruction in this vital industry,” said Kim Ross, Department Chairperson. “This relationship opens a whole new avenue of opportunities for our current and prospective students.”

As a member of the AAPC, USC The Business College will:

  • Be the only local school to be licensed to teach the AAPC curriculum

  • Have Certified Instructors teaching all the coding courses (CPC-I).

  • Be offering a Medical Coding Practicum, in which the students will complete real world case studies to improve their competency in this growing field while gaining experience.

Other benefits will allow USC The Business College students to graduate having fulfilled the 2-year apprenticeship requirement thereby increasing employability. In addition, USC The Business College will be able to administer the AAPC exam on campus. This collaboration will also provide a mechanism for the college to easily transition to a 100% online format for a Coding Certificate in addition to offering a 2-year Degree Program.

USC The Business College’s mission is to prepare men and women for successful careers in business and technology. The 119-year-old academic institution provides numerous opportunities for its students to prepare for a career in an ever-changing business world.
