USC college degree changed formerly homeless veteran's life
May 9, 2016
Two years ago, when Marine Corps veteran Juan Rucker came to USC, he was homeless, uncertain of his future and in need of support to reach his life dreams.
He never dreamed achieving a college degree would be a part of his future.
On Thursday, Juan will have erased that belief forever when he graduates and receives his degree in Business Administration. He credits the support, flexibility and encouragement from USC staff and faculty to this significant life change.
"Without a degree, I could not move forward with my life,” said Rucker, who will assist men like him working with the VA in Syracuse and Working Solutions. “USC opening their doors and accepting me, granted me that opportunity to just look further - at anything."
